Poetry: Politics

Nothing changes.
Across the open lands,
slender grasses suspire
at the passing of each
slippery bit of
windy gossip, earnestly
whispering hollow wisdoms
in response to
shallow concerns. Heads shake,
beards shiver: across
the open lands, winds slip
casual scandals into
hollow heads which
bend solemnly, and remember
nothing. Only nothing, and
nothing changes....
